07/19/2013

The ServiceMaster Company today announced the appointment of Mary Kay Runyan as senior vice president, supply management, effective immediately. In her new role, Runyan will lead sourcing strategy and execution for all aspects of supply management at the corporate and business unit levels, reporting directly to the chief executive office.

“Since joining ServiceMaster, Mary Kay has been a transformational leader, bringing process excellence and a strong customer-centric approach to the role,” said Robert Gillette, ServiceMaster CEO. “She has an outstanding track record of leadership and execution since joining ServiceMaster in 2010, and she’ll bring greater focus to our strategic sourcing efforts across the company,” said Gillette.

Runyan joined ServiceMaster in 2010 as vice president, fleet, and was promoted to vice president, strategic sourcing and fleet in 2012. Since that time, she has been responsible for one of the largest commercial fleets in the U.S. and has overseen the procurement and implementation of more than $1.5 billion worth of products and services annually.

Prior to joining ServiceMaster, Runyan served as director of North American fleet operations for Coca-Cola Enterprises, heading the management of a $175 million maintenance operation throughout the U.S. and Canada in support of more than 50,000 pieces of on-road delivery trucks and material handling equipment. Previously, Runyan spent eight years with Waste Management, Inc. in a variety of leadership positions in fleet, logistics and strategic sourcing.

Runyan is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, with a bachelor’s of science degree in mathematics and operations analysis. She began her career in San Diego as an aviation maintenance officer for a Naval anti-submarine helicopter squadron and subsequently earned a masters degree in logistics engineering from National University in California while serving seven years on active duty.
